If you are taking your Triumph Daytona 675 or Street Triple racing or to a track day it is worth investing in some protection for the costly engine cases. There are a number of companies which or who produce this kind of crash protection and they all follow the same basic format, although the materials used do appear to differ slightly. We reckon that our friends at T3 Racing would know a bit about protecting Triumph Triples and it was them that we turned for components to protect our own staff bike.
We purchased composite clutch, generator and crankcase covers and they bolted straight on to the engine and covered up those metallic parts. They are made from a 60% glass impregnated composite material with high wear resistance and are built to withstand both impact and wear and have vents for increased cooling.
They’re smart and don’t detract from the look of the bike. We’ve not tested them fully yet because we’ve managed to keep the bike upright – so far!
Available from T3 Racing on www.t3-racing.co.uk, prices start at £39 for the crankcase cover and to kit the whole bike we paid £139 plus delivery.
