Graeme Crosby told Racer that when he submitted his book to the publisher they were overwhelmed by the size of it – and it’s certainly a weighty tome. But then he’s packed a lot into his racing career and his autobiography covers it all in depth. It’s well-written, funny and tells it like it was. Fans of Croz will appreciate the coverage of his early years in particular and readers who have never heard of him will enjoy the ride from the start of his career right through to his retirement from racing.
Croz has met some real characters over the years – from pioneering race organisers to outstanding Japanese engineers but the personalities of the bikes he has ridden, raced and crashed really shine all the way through the book.
The pics of the good old days are entertaining and will take the more senior amongst you right back in time – but some things never change and the ambition and dedication that a racer needs to succeed at the highest level will always be a pre-requisite.
This great and absorbing read is available from www.amazon.co.uk at a cost of £19.99. It’s published by Harper Collins, New Zealand. We’re still passing our copy round the team here at Racer as Croz made us promise to send the book back when we were finished with it.
