Garry Dickinson’s autobiography is an interesting mix of his memories from a racing career that spanned over 30 years and his thoughts and impressions on racing in the UK. And he’s not shy about saying what he thinks! From the struggle to find a sidecar partner each season to juggling married life and funding racing, this comes across as an honest account of the ups and downs of one man’s addiction to motorcycle racing. We struggled with the structure of the book in places, as the former 125 rider jumps from a chapter on his early racing history to an overview of his guide to the best and worst race tracks, but overall it’s an entertaining read. Garry has published the book himself, and is handling the distribution too so you won’t find it in the shops, but you can get your copy direct from jacqueline1965@sky.com. It costs £8.99 + postage and packing.
