Marco Simoncelli
Here’s to a real fighter.
Marco Simoncelli died yesterday 23 October during the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang. He was trying to save a low-side. It looked like he got the bike more upright with both tyres gripping but couldn’t get back up onto the bike. As he was hanging right off the right hand side of the bike and was getting drive from the back tyre, it veered across towards the right hand side of the track. The riders behind him, Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi couldn’t avoid him.
The race was stopped and subsequently cancelled whilst the medics attended to Marco, but sadly he died.
He will be very much missed and our thoughts are with his family and friends.
